Luther Allison
Luther’s childhood was strongly influenced by gospel music. Due to his brother “Ollie Lee” he turned more and more into Blues. In 1954 Luther became definitely a Blues musi- cian when he started in his brother’s band. In 1965 he recorded his first single and two years later he released his first album called „Love me Mama“. He moved to France in 1977 and stayed there for more than 15 years. In 1994 Luther had a big comeback in the States with his album „Soul Fixin’ Man “and received four “Handy Awards”.From that point on, Luther received various awards. In 1997 Luther Alli- son died, five days prior his 58th birthday, of lung cancer. In 1998 he got introduced to the Blues Hall of Fame. His son Bernard Allison is also a talented Blues guitarist.
