Lucio Battisti has been present in the Italian charts since the sixties, and rapidly advanced to a superstar in “Bella Italia”. He got interna- tionally known in 1969 due to a British group called “Amen corner”. They recorded an En- glish version of his composition “Il Paradiso” called “(If Paradise is) Half as nice” and this celebrated a worldwide hit. During his career lasting from 1964 until his death in 1998, he recorded over 20 albums, of which most were a great success. The lyrics for his com- positions got mostly written by the legendary “Mogol”. Lucio Battisti died in 1998 at the age of 55 years. He still is one of the most impor- tant musicians in the Italian Music history.
