Alvin Lee was born in a musician family, since his parents and his sister appeared as country-trio. Already at the age of 12, little Alvin learned to play the clarinet, and only one year later, he started to play the guitar. The same year he joined the Elvis Presley Fan Club, because he wanted to know the guita- rist Scotty Moore. Many years later they ap- peared together. After playing in different groups, Alvin became a member of “Ivan Jay and the Jaycats” which changed their name into “Ten Years After”. With this Blues-rock- band Alvin advanced to a superstar, and this also despite the appearance at “Woodstock Festival” in the summer of 1969. With his song lasting 10 minutes “I’m going home” he was proving his excellent talent on the guitar. At this festival he owned a red “Gibson ES- 335” guitar with a peace sticker. This guitar marked Alvin Lee. He died during a surgery in Marbella on March 2013 aged 68.
